Meet the Team: Alex Harris

Web Developer

Alex Harris grew up in Berkeley, California, spending time reading, drawing, playing sports, and roaming about town.  He attended college at Boston University for a year, before returning to California and graduating from UCSC with a degree in Environmental Studies focusing on Agroecology and bicycle transportation. He moved to Portland after graduating, having never been there before. He worked in various restaurants for a few years until starting at Cast Iron Coding in late 2009.

When his parents got AOL 2.0, he learned how to make websites about his favorite comic book characters. In High School, he used this basic familiarity with HTML and CSS to make webpages to display his and his friend's artwork, blogs, and more. In 2007 he decided to get more serious about web development, and updated his knowledge of modern web development practices and standards compliance.

When he isn't cross-browser testing, he is probably riding his bicycle or drawing.
