Cast Iron Coding is frequently approached by designers and project managers from other companies to bridge the gap between planning a site and implementing it in TYPO3. While we also manage projects from the planning stages to post-launch evaluation, we appreciate our partners, value the business they provide us, and are always willing to put in a good word for them.
Cast Iron Coding LLC, a proven leader in crafting robust, custom internet content management solutions, is proud to announce the launch of the GameAlmighty.com website, a vibrant, new online headquarters for the rapidly growing video game community.
GameAlmighty.com is a cutting edge social networking site that delivers a dynamic, entertaining mix of industry previews, editorial content, discussion forums, and user contributed game reviews. Designed to meet the expectations of demanding, web-savvy users, GameAlmighty.com incorporates the latest internet technology—streaming video, RSS feeds, podcasts—all in an easy-to-use site with the sleek, energetic look and feel of a classic superhero comic book.
Cast Iron Coding oversaw all aspects of development on the GameAlmighty.com website, from project planning to implementation—seamlessly incorporating the VideoEgg Media Platform, and streaming content hosted on on Akamai Edge servers. To accelerate the development process and ensure a stable platform with room to grow, Cast Iron Coding employed a reliable, open source content management framework, custom tailored to allow for dynamic page layouts, and the constantly evolving demands of a social networking website.
"Our vision was a creative atmosphere where web-savvy consumers could share their passions by gathering and communicating with each other in the most interactive setting possible," says Ed Allebest, General Manager of GameAlmighty.com "Cast Iron Coding was the only group we found who actually knew how to bring all these experiences together seamlessly into one site—all with the kind of flexibility this type of dynamic environment requires. They quickly understood what we were about and were able to provide intelligent, creative suggestions to keep us on track."
Developing a user-friendly website around such an innovative design concept posed several technical challenges, including customizing the content management framework (in this case TYPO3) to accommodate dynamic page layouts and pull content on the fly from a database into Flash page elements.
"Too often developers overlook proven content management systems because they think they'll be left with a plain-Jane looking site that lacks creativity—but that's not necessarily so," says Zach Davis, owner of Cast Iron Coding. "With this and other projects, I think we've demonstrated the knowledge and expertise to work with almost any design, and at the same time deliver the dependability and scalability that web-based enterprises need."
