Dana-Farber / Harvard Cancer Center

Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center unites the cancer research efforts of five academic medical centers and two Harvard schools. In 2014, we redesigned their website to make it easier for their members to collaborate on research, publications, and clinical trials.

  • More than 1, 100 Cancer Researchers
  • Over $6 million in Research Funding
  • Five Boston Medical Institutions
  • Two Harvard Schools

Researchers Achieve More Together

Data is fed from DFHCC's internal membership database and PubMed data to the website. Members can be searched using Solr, and the site provides visualizations showing collaborations between members. Researchers use these tools to find collaboration and knowledge sharing opportunities.

Massive, Searchable Document Library

DF/HCC has one of the largest clinical research initiatives in the country, taking a unified approach to approving, activating, monitoring, and supporting the cancer-related clinical trials conducted at its member institutions. Our information architecture makes the process of complying with federal guidelines simpler and more straight-forward.

Content Architecture

Prior to the redesign, the site contained thousands of pages of content. Cast Iron's UX design team produced content architecture plans and worked with the many project stakeholders to finalize the structure.
